SPIRIT OF LAKIPATI: Connecting w/ the Land & the Indigenous | A New Approach to Earth Day | Saticoy Depot

A 3-day immersion on how we can develop, practice and sustain our cultural traditions locally. Exploring & acknowledging ourselves as settlers on Chumash Territory— we come together in community to support these new visions.
🌱Day 1: Zoom discussion led by UCSB 4th year students, we will talk about the importance of looking at Earth Day through a decolonial lens.
🌱Day 2: We start off with a light meal (well, to us Filipino’s anyway lol) Vegan/Spamasubi’s prepared by @jennelyn___ . Storytelling + land acknowledgment by @saticoydepot + art activities led by @pinaysphere ! A nourishing meal where we will share a wonderful pot of vegetarian / pork sinigang prepared by @xjenbenitezx mama, “Tita Fe” 🤍 (max 10-12 ppl)
🌱Day 3: Family Day! All ages welcome as do light farm work & enjoy another lovely meal prepared by @saticoydepot mama. (10-12ppl max)
